Piper Fountain

The metal makes a terrible screeching as it strikes various stones throughout the walls.
It slices cleanly through layers of tunnels and homes without any effort,
Devouring thousands of lives with every inch it cuts through.
The metal is a shining wall of death,
Lifting the intricate city of tunnels from its place in the ground.
The wall of death lifts the city up into the great ocean of sky, up, up, up away from the safety of earth, into the view of two obsidian eyes,
Almost as big as the city itself-

" Oh Prodi! Put that down! You've dug up an ants nest, careful now. They might bite you!"
Prodi lowered the city on the shovel to the ground and stood up to her full three-and-a-half feet, dusting off her pink tutu as she went.
Nanny, fussing and brushing bits of dirt from Prodi, escorted the child back to the house.
The house where nothing ever happened.
