If I Had
Jennifer Buda
Had I stayed
would you have loved me
with all my flaws and the way I drink
my coffee first with cream
but black on the second pour
would we have sang
the same songs over time
loud and from our hearts
my voice out of tune
with our windows down
would we laugh
together at our own jokes
through grief and joy
would you have held me
without letting go
as I would push away
afraid of our unknowns
would we find answers
would we find answers
If I oh but what if
I had stayed
